Collaboration in Community

Creating a World That Works for All: One Community at a Time

My Gifts

Creating a healthy community can only happen when you and I let our gifts be known to the rest of the community. So often we're never asked what we're good at or what we might bring to the table.

From the book "Community: The Structure of Belonging" by Peter Block:
In community building, rather than focusing on our deficiencies and weaknesses, which will most likely not go away, we gain more leverage when we focus on the gifts we bring and seek ways to capitalize on them. Instead of problematizing people and work, the conversation that searches for our gifts brings the greatest change and results. The leadership task––indeed the task of every citizen––is to bring the gifts of those on the margin into the center. This is a core quality of a hospitable community, whose work is to bring into play the gifts of all its members, especially strangers.

WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO OFFER YOUR COMMUNITY?

WHAT ARE THE GIFTS THAT YOU BRING? What do you know? What are you good at? What would you like to share or with other people?

My gift and my passion in the world is helping people come together to create small business. I am a strong proponent of Localizing our Economy....and bringing the community's attention to the whole issue of job creation. I and an advocate that the primary differentiating element of businesses that succeed in the new Economy will be how much consciousness we bring to our businesses and the products and services we produce. A key leverage point for all such businesses will be the art of collaboration and fostering the mostly untapped resources of co-intelligence. The gift I will leave on this journey this time around on this planet is an increase in the consciousness of business, and the shift from mindless greed to mindful work.

I am the message that "It's all LOVE" and my happiness is in serving as a re-,minder of "Yes you Can!" with humor, presence, invitation to the freedom of change, gentle heart guidance, always returning to the experience and expression of the Heart of Oneness. It is where we are from and where we return.
How I create is through workshops, seminars, individual sessions and spontaneously in the moment of collaborative inspiration. If this resonates with you and you would like to explore my work, and/or possible co-creations, it would be my joy to hear from you.

It is my passion to assist singers as well as closet singers to free their voices, to freely, delightfully travel the landscape of sound, to tap in their unlimited world of sound, to find their vocal space within a a group of free musical improvisers.

It is my Joy is to unite members of the global community, co-creating a common language through guided vocal improvisation, while developing friendship and unity.

I am most passionate about assisting people to clarify their Divinely Inspired Life Purpose and to then design their life to be an authentic reflection of that purpose. Ann, my wife, and I founded Life On Purpose Institute, Inc. in 1996 as a way to reach out and share the gift of 'clarity of purpose.' Realizing that many people have a sincere desire to know their life purpose but are unclear how to go about it, I created the Life On Purpose Process -- a proven, systematic, spiritually based and practical approach that helps people to identify their true purpose and provides them with the tools and means to design their life on purpose. I am also the author of Life On Purpose: Six Passages to an Inspired Life which was an award winning finalist in the Self-Help: Motivational division of the Best Books 2007 Awards sponsored by USA News. (We were 'beat out' by a little book called The Secret. ) I love the combination of being a life and business coach, writer and public speaker, and the joy of working from my home in this Paradise Found of Flat Rock NC. My two web sites are http://www.lifeonpurpose.com and my blog http://www.lifeonpurposeblog.com , my email is coachbrad@lifeonpurpose.com and my office number is 828 697-9239

The Gifts That We Bring: Our love and passion is in helping people make more skillful decisions to increase personal success, while transforming their surroundings into a supportive environment. We consult and do trainings in The Psychology of Place Approach using principles from green design, NLP (the psychology of excellence), Feng Shui and the balancing arts of Tai Chi and Aikido. Our affinity for insightful fun, inspired us to create a game called The 9 Star Adventure. It blends an ancient sacred pattern from the I Ching with thoughtful questions to spark inner resources for each player.

Gift: In making this offer, I hope for a win/win. We have an executive home that my husband and I built as a spec home. Unfortunately, this beautiful 3 bedroom/3.5 bath home has not sold and is sitting empty. We are hoping that a nonprofit or such can make use of it and help us on the mortgage payment. It is fully furnished and waiting to be a retreat center, a halfway house, or even a foster home. Maybe you can help. It is very private, on 80 acres south of Hendersonville. You can see it at www.vrbo.com/132211. Thank you.
