HONEY BEAR ORCHARD APPLE FEST IN HICKORY NUT GORGE

Hickory Nut Forest Eco-Community in Hickory Nut Gorge is sponsoring the 2nd annual Apple Festival in its Honey Bear Orchard . It is free and family-friendly. Scheduled events include an apple piñata, an apple pie contest, bobbing for apples, pressing apple cider, and sampling various apple goodies. Door prizes and awards will be given for the best Fugly apple art and farthest apple toss. A raffle and silent auction will be held to support the orchard internship program.

Hickory Nut Forest Eco-Community is located on 270 magnificent acres on Hickory Nut Creek up to the cliffs on Little Bearwallow Mountain. The community features green homes with renewable energy, organic gardens and orchards, and a community center called Laughing Waters, on the site of a restored gristmill on the creek, for retreats, community gatherings, and education events.
